President Donald Trump signed an executive order on February 14, 2025, aimed at ending COVID-19 vaccine mandates in schools. The order prohibits federal funding for educational institutions that require students to receive a COVID-19 vaccine to attend in-person programs. This directive is part of Trump’s broader commitment to protecting personal freedoms and ensuring that educational opportunities are not contingent on vaccine mandates.
The order calls on the Secretary of Education and the Secretary of Health and Human Services to develop a plan to end coercive COVID-19 vaccine mandates and report on compliance.
Those schools and companies found not to be in compliance risk losing any federal funding they request for operations.
