Friday marks the fifth anniversary since COVID-19 was declared a public health emergency in the U.S.

There were over 3000 COVID deaths in the US over the last 30 days.

Since its onset, over 7 million people have died from the virus worldwide, with the U.S. accounting for a large portion of recent fatalities.

Hospitalizations and emergency visits are rising, with a current death rate of 1.8%. Vaccination rates remain low, with less than 25% of adults receiving the updated vaccine, and the remaining 75% opting for more research and preventative measures. This highlights the importance of preventative measures in reducing severe cases and long COVID.
